Mom certainly loved her stay at Queenshaven when she was able to still enjoy it.
Thank you to all the management and the wonderful staff that loved and cared for my mom.
They were always so kind to her. We had peace knowing that my mom was always safe and well cared for.
Queenshaven Village, one of two retirement facilities managed by the Johannesburg Coronation Foundation, welcomed its first residents in 1953. Queenshaven is situated on 9 hectares of landscaped gardens together with beautiful giant trees in a secured environment. We are located on the corner of Southern Klipriviersberg and Outspan Roads, South Hills, Johannesburg.
Queenshaven retirement village residents live independently in self-contained bedsitters and cottages. There is also a semi-frail care facility (North House) where residents are still fairly independent but have their meals prepared, laundry done and have access to primary health care. The frail care section (Lalapanzi) is home to 60 residents who have age-related infirmities where they live in wards in bright and comfortable surroundings. Here residents receive full care including 24 hour primary health care.
Facilities available to all our residents include physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy, hairdressing, snooker, darts, a library, DSTV lounge, clothing bank, craft, sewing and knitting club, activity centre for social recreation e.g. gym, bingo and games, a swimming pool and a bus service to the local shopping centres. There is also an inter-denominational chapel where regular church services are held. A coffee shop and convenience store for essential items is a happy place to get together and share a toasted sandwich and a cappuccino. This is not the usual average old age home.
